The Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys has formed its Domestic Law Section, per the following email message I received from Mary Volkerding, its Membership Director:
“To all interested in Joining KATA’s Domestic Law Section:
I am forwarding to you the minutes from our July 11 meeting. Our Domestic Law Section Listserve is up and running. If you would like to join the Section please send your membership fee of $25 to the KATA office or call us to pay by credit card. You will then be added to the listserv if you wish. Further marketing efforts are coming soon and we will keep you informed of upcoming meeting dates and time. As you may have seen in our 2006 Annual Convention Brochure, a Domestic Law Break Out Session has been scheduled on Thursday, September 7. We hope you will be able to attend. Thank you”
Comment: As we previously reported, the addition of this section is welcome news. It is unfortunate that the September 7 Domestic portion of the seminar coincides with a complex trial topic that looks terrific and that the Domestic portion is in part a repeat of some of the LBA/AAML seminar last May.
